Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy is from

Rythune is Developed & published by ScientistsHub Labs. References to “we” and “us” below mean that publisher.

2. No account, no profile

Rythune does not offer registration or sign-in. We do not create an account for you, do not ask for your name or email address inside the app, and do not build a user profile on a server. You can install the app and play your music without providing any personal details to us.

3. What the app accesses on your device

The app requests the following Android permissions. Each one is used for the purpose described and nothing else.

Reading your audio files does not upload them. Scanning happens on the device, and the files stay where they are.

4. Information stored on your device

The app keeps the following inside its own private storage on your device:

• Your music library index — file paths, titles, artists, albums, durations and embedded artwork read from your own audio files.
• Playlists you create, and the order of the tracks in them.
• Favorites — the tracks you have liked.
• Listening history — per-track play counts and completed plays, plus a capped log of recent play events used for time-based sections such as “On Repeat”. This is what makes the personalized Home sections work.
• Recent searches — a short, capped list of terms you have searched for.
• Settings and preferences — theme choice, sort and view preferences, and similar app options.
• Cached artwork and the resume position of the last thing you played.

This information is stored locally. We do not receive a copy of it, and there is no server-side backup of it. If you use a device backup service provided by Android or your device manufacturer, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to whatever it backs up.

5. Optional online music section

Alongside your local library, the app includes an optional section for browsing freely licensed music from third-party catalogues. This part of the app — and only this part — makes network requests.

• Requests are sent to the third-party music services the app queries in order to return search results, listings and audio streams. Those services will receive technical information inherent to any internet request, such as your IP address, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
• Nothing about your local library, playlists, favorites or listening history is sent with those requests.
• If you never open the online section, the app does not need a connection and does not make these requests.
• Tracks you choose to download from that section are saved into the app's own storage on your device.

Note for the publisher: before publishing, list here by name each third-party music service the shipped build queries, with a link to each service's privacy policy.

6. Analytics, advertising and crash reporting

The app does not integrate an advertising SDK, an analytics SDK or a third-party crash-reporting SDK. We do not track your usage across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.

If the app is distributed through Google Play, Google collects certain information about installs and, where the platform provides it, crash diagnostics, independently of the app. That collection is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. Because the app stores your library data on your device rather than on our servers, there is no library data for us to share. The only outbound data flows are the optional online requests described in section 5.

8. Retention and deletion

• Library, playlist, favorite and history data is kept on your device until you remove it or uninstall the app.
• The recent-play event log and the recent-searches list are capped and pruned automatically, so they do not grow without limit.
• Uninstalling Rythune removes the app's private storage, including the library index, playlists, favorites, history and cached artwork. Your original music files are not affected.
• In-app options let you clear cached artwork and cached data without uninstalling.

9. Your choices and rights

You control the audio-media permission from Android's system settings and can revoke it at any time; the app will simply stop being able to see your music. You can delete playlists, unlike tracks, clear caches, or uninstall the app to remove everything it stores.

Depending on where you live you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, portability or objection in relation to personal data. Because we do not hold your library data on a server, most such requests are satisfied directly on your device. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us using the details in section 13.

10. Children's privacy

Rythune is a general-audience music player and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no accounts and no server-side data collection, it does not gather personal details from any user, regardless of age.

Note for the publisher: confirm the target-audience declaration in the Play Console matches this statement.

11. Security

App data is held in the app's private storage area, which Android isolates from other applications. No system is perfectly secure, and data on a device that is rooted, shared or physically compromised may be exposed regardless of what the app does.

12. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if a new third-party service is added — this page will be updated and the “last updated” date at the top will change. Significant changes will also be reflected in the Google Play listing.
